Become a Mentor!

There are over 1,000 children in Metro Detroit who are waiting to be matched with a mentor...we need your help! Mentoring today has become more innovative and flexible to meet the needs of volunteers.

Mentoring takes many forms

Mentors can find a program that fits their needs. The MDMC can help make this link for you! When deciding about a mentoring program, consider the following questions. Do you want to:

• Work one-to-one with a mentee, in a group (1 mentor with up to 4 youth), or as a team mentor (2 adults with up to 4 youth)?
  
• Mentor at a set location (a school, community center, church, etc.), meet with your mentee on your own in the community, or mentor online (e-mentoring)?
  
• Mentor a certain age level of youth (elementary, middle school, high school, young adult, etc.)?
  
• Volunteer on a certain day and time at a specific geographic location?
